Inside and Out

So here's the run down of what went down this week at our house

1. Framers finished the interior framing and the exterior porches
2. Columns on the porches were framed in to await stone work
3. Electrical box and meter for the electrical company were installed
4. Windows went in through out the whole house
5. Plumbing was roughed in and two tubs were installed
5. Aspalt shingles were started on the roof
6. Supply runs started for the HVAC system
7. Delivery of our boulders for a retaining wall

So many exciting things happened this week on the house. It is so hard to believe that over the last month the house has gone from this...

To this...

This is how the house looked at the beginning of the week before the front porch was finished

These are the windows on either side of the fireplace in the living room

Check out our new mudroom entry! The roof mimicks the front porch roof and it will have 2 columns

This is a view looking up at the front porch. I love how inviting the porch feels now that it is almost complete

Our shingles for the roof have already gone on the house and are looking great! The color is Georgetown Grey by CertainTeed Landmark series.

We are loving how the fireplace is looking so far. We will have bookcases built in on either side of the fireplace and hopefully we will mount a TV on the wall on top.

Check out our master closet! Its about 7.5 feet by 10 feet and we have big plans for utilizing the cathedral ceilings in that room for lots of storage

Here is our side entry door off the mudroom. It is a fiberglass door by Jeld-wen and it is stain able so we can make it any color we want. We added the dentil shelf detail to keep with the craftsman feel

Yes sir, thats the view of our ceiling in our master bedroom! 14 amazing feet tall

This isn't the most interesting photo but its the start of the HVAC system going in

Plumbing lines in the ceiling leading all around the house. We are using PEX plumbing lines which are flexible and durable

More exciting photos of plumbing lines in the floor joists!

The red lines are for hot water and the blue for cold water, I figured you knew this but I thought I would mention it anyway

Plumbing lines in the master bathroom and you can see one of the heat vents that will peek out under the vanity cabinet

Our new boulders. They are blue and red granite and weigh about 8,000 pounds all together!

As we have learned not everything goes as planned with building a house. Some how one of the basement windows were broken but no fear it will be replaced next week

Check it out! Its looking so awesome! Front porch is all framed in and is just waiting for the asphalt shingles to go on.

It really looks like home. Soon we will have the siding on, the columns on the front porch will get their stone and then the front door will complete the front of the house.
